I met Lord Norman Foster in person and got this one when I was in Munich for my exchange design studio program during my master's in University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The lecture was held in the afternoon of June 13th, 2003 at Ludwig-Maximilian University Munich. The fact made me surprised was that even though Norman Foster is one of the star architects in the world, I think, the lecture was not much a big event in Munich. I thought it's because it's geographically close between two countries and maybe he had that kind of lecture many times in Munich. Anyway, there were still many people in the hall. It was impressive that a guy played the trumpet before the lecture while people came and found their seats.
Of course, I don't have to mention that the lecture was great.
After his lecture, I waited for him in corridor to get this autograph. I gave my sketch pad and a pen to him and he started writing. I did not remember my pen ran out of ink. He scratched several time and looked at my face. He was cross. My pen worked and he signed with the pen.
I will keep visiting this blog very often. you got good stuff here.
